Tarot Spread for Halloween & Samhain: Zombie Edition

My Inspiration for this Spread

I'll be really real with you here, I'm not a huge fan of zombies.  In fact, the only zombie show I like is iZombie.  Years ago I was at the store and the person I was with talked me into picking up The Zombie Tarot on a whim and I never thought it would be a readable deck for me.  But it absolutely is and I'm as floored as anyone to discover it's one of my all-time favorite decks to read with.  There are two other zombie-themed things that I enjoy, a card game called Zombombie and a dice game called Zombie Dice.  That last game was the inspiration for me to create this three-card Tarot spread great for Halloween and Samhain.

I use The Zombie Tarot when I read with this Tarot spread but you can use ANY Tarot deck you have or find yourself working with right now.  You don't HAVE to use The Zombie Tarot, but it does add a nice touch to this Spooky Season themed reading.

My Zombie Tarot Spread

Think of a question or an area of your life that you'd like to pick the zombies' brains on.  I recommend avoiding yes/no questions and that you either ask an open-ended question or just focus on a specific life area.

Shuffle the cards.  You can also cut the deck if you'd like.

Lay out three cards from left to right.

Card 1 ~ The Runner ~ This card shows the past influences around the topic you are inquiring about.

Card 2 ~ The Shotgun ~ This card shows the best advice or best course of action you can take to achieve your desired outcome.

Card 3 ~ The Shambler ~ This card shows the influences or energies that are currently coming into being around your topic or question.

Expanding on this Halloween & Samhain Spread

Some readers love a good short three-card spread and others love more.  There's no one right way to read Tarot so if you're the kind of reader who likes more in-depth spreads or if you've laid out the three cards and feel like you need some more clarity here are some ways you can expand on this spread.

~ Pull an oracle card, if you'd like to keep the spooky theme you could use an oracle deck like Les Vampires or the Halloween Oracle.

~ Pull an additional Tarot card for each position.

~ Draw charms in addition to the cards or draw a couple of charms for each card.

~ Draw runes to expand on the information in the cards.

~ Journal about the reading to help you reflect and gain deeper insights.

~ Meditate on the reading to help you gain deeper insights.

~ Based on the reading create an action plan for yourself that will help you to achieve your desired outcome.

I absolutely encourage you to read for yourself if you enjoy reading and feel that you can be objective when reading for yourself.  There are times though when we want someone else to read for us, when you find yourself in one of those times remember that you can book a private reading with me through my Etsy shop.

Blessings, Rayne
