Dressing Like Your Venus Sign: Why & How
Hello my lovelies. I have been diving deeper into and using more astrology in my practice and in my business lately, and one of the areas that I have found very interesting is the concept of dressing like your Venus sign. Now this is something that I actually started doing kind of by accident and it works so well for me. I actually started dressing this way first and then learned about the concept of dressing to match your Venus sign. Once I did hear about this concept and looked into it what dressing like my Venus sign would look like, I instantly saw the validity in this concept for myself.
So why do we want to dress like our Venus sign? Well from an astrology perspective, Venus is about beauty, love, and attraction. That means that dressing like our Venus sign, or in alignment with our Venus sign, enhances our natural magnetism. From a psychological perspective, dressing like our Venus sign should instill us with confidence, so it helps us to feel a certain way on the inside that we will then radiate outwardly to others. If you've ever seen a person who maybe isn't what we would consider conventionally attractive or magnetic but for some reason they have a certain je ne sais quoi about them that attracts us to them, then there's a chance that they are dressing or carrying themselves in a way that is in alignment with their Venus sign.
Whether you are someone who would be considered conventionally attractive or not, dressing to align with your venous sign can make you feel more attractive more like yourself more at home in your body and that is going to impact how those around you view you. but this isn't just about the physical. dressing this way and feeling more confident and exuding that will have a ripple effect on other areas of your life beyond physical aesthetics and romance. when you are more confident overall you act as a more efficient manifestation magnet for yourself drawing in everything that you want.
For many people dressing like your Venus sign alone is enough to get the full effect, but for others, there's something missing and that's because maybe they don't 100% resonate with their Venus sign. If you find that this is true for you what some astrologers suggest that is finding your ascendant sign in your chart, looking at its ruling planet, and then seeing what sign that ruling planet is in. Once you have this information you can incorporate methods of dressing like that particular planet and sign combination or some people feel that they need to lean in heavier to that and then just add elements of their Venus sign into their wardrobe.
Again I just started doing this naturally this is just something that as I evolved as a person and was looking to do all kinds of self-improvement I found myself just naturally dressing this way. but let me give you a concrete example of what I'm talking about here especially when we're talking about incorporating the ruling planet of the chart which is what your ascendant sign leads you to. I am a Taurus son which I resonate with some elements of it but most of my personality has to do with more of the internal workings and much less to do with my sun sign and that's why I really don't dress like a Taurus. My Venus sign is an Aries and the keywords for a fashion style based on this particular combination are bold, edgy, and experimental. I found that once I just naturally started dressing like this I felt better about myself I felt more confident about myself as I started to dress in this way I gained more and more confidence and there was definitely a change for the better in the way people around me perceived me. Now I also add in elements of the other planetary sign combo I talked about. My rising sign, my ascended, is Cancer which is ruled by the moon. my moon just happens to actually be in cancer. if you have a moon in cancer one of the ways to dress to match that is to use the color silver. if you know me you know that long ago I stopped wearing any jewelry that is gold and all of my jewelry is silver. this means that overall my dress aligns with my Venus sign in that my dress tends to be bold edgy or experimental, and my aesthetic also aligns with my ruling planet of the Moon being in cancer because all of my accessories are silver.
Just as a quick note, not everyone has a chart like mine where your ascendant sign and moon sign are identical. It's more likely that when you look at your chart you will have a different ascendant or rising sign and moon sign so when you look for the ruling planet of your ascendant sign it's not going to Loop into your moon sign and be in the corresponding sign like mine is.
Now for those who want to dive really deeply down the rabbit hole you can also look at what houses your Venus is in and what house your ruling planet of your chart is in and add fashion tips for those placements as well. I don't like to overcomplicate things for myself so I stick to dressing like my Venus sign and adding in elements of my ruling planet in its sign.
How do you find out what your Venus sign is, what the ruling planet of your chart is, and what sign it is in? Well for that you need to get an astrology natal chart done. There are a few ways you can find this information for free online if you know what you're looking at and what to do with the information. Which means, this is something that if you are astrology-minded you can do 100% for yourself. If you are not feeling like tackling astrology charts, that's just not your cup of tea, that's perfectly okay you can always pay an astrologer to have your natal chart done for you. It will tell you this information, though depending on how they write up the report it might be more cut and dry in some astrologer's reports than others. If this is something that there's a lot of interest in I do astrology natal charts and some other astrology readings through my Etsy shop you can always message me and we can talk price for me to find that information for you. I will tell you that to find this information you must have the month you were born, the day you were born, the year you were born, the time you were born, and the exact city you were born in.
In today's post, I'm going to give you a guide for dressing like your Venus sign. Remember that your Venus sign is about your aesthetic.
Dressing according to the sign your ruling planet is in takes on a different flavor because it focuses on the expression of your core identity and purpose rather than your aesthetic preferences (Venus). Each person's ruling planet is tied to their Ascendant (Rising Sign), and the placement of that planet in a zodiac sign can reflect how you approach life and how others perceive you.
It would take up entirely too much space for me to go into each ruling planet in each of the 12 Zodiac signs, but if you just want to dip your toes in adding that concept into your wardrobe you can look at what sign your ruling planet is in and use the information below to add those elements into your attire. the ruling planet does give some flavor and context to the sign and how to dress, but the sign has the overall influence, so you'll get the gist but not the nuance if you use this chart to dress like your ruling planet.
This particular chart has been flavored with Venus's influence because we're looking at dressing like your Venus sign, but you can try some things out if you want to incorporate dressing in alignment with your ruling planet’s sign. See what works for you and what doesn't. and if you're really into it you can always do a search for yourself of how to dress for your ruling planet sign which will then remove the Venus influence and input your ruling planet's influence.
