Samhain, known as the witch's New Year, is a powerful time for transformation, honoring ancestors, connecting with the unseen, and working with manifestations. This journaling challenge will guide you through the dark half of the year, explore dream work, and dive deep into the mysteries of the underworld and the paranormal.
Week 1: Honoring Ancestors & Setting Intentions
Day 1: The Witch’s New Year
Samhain marks the start of a new cycle. What are your intentions for the next year? How do you want to transform spiritually and manifest in the physical world?
Day 2: Honoring the Ancestors
Reflect on an ancestor you feel connected to. What spiritual wisdom do you think they would offer? How can you honor them during this season? If you’d like, you can draw Tarot or oracle cards to help you answer these questions.
Day 3: Ancestors & the Paranormal
Have you ever had a paranormal experience that felt like communication from an ancestor? How did it make you feel, and what was the message?
Day 4: Releasing the Past
Samhain is a time for letting go of old cycles. What patterns, relationships, or beliefs are you ready to release to make space for new manifestations?
Day 5: Persephone's Descent
Persephone is queen of the underworld, embodying transformation and rebirth. Reflect on how her descent mirrors your personal journey into the darker aspects of your soul. You could choose another Underworld deity if you’d like.
Day 6: Manifestation Ritual
Write about the top 3 things you want to manifest this year. Create a ritual or spell to set these intentions into motion. This is the day of the Harvest Super Moon in Aries.
Day 7: Signs from the Unseen
Reflect on signs or messages you’ve received from the spirit world lately. How do you interpret these messages, and how do they relate to your manifestations?
Week 2: The Dark Half of the Year & Paranormal Insights
Day 8: The Veil Between Worlds
Some believe the veil between the worlds is thinnest during Samhain. What manifestations do you want to send through this veil to the spirit world to help you manifest in the physical?
Day 9: Embracing the Dark Half
How do you feel about the darker half of the year? What can you learn from the darker aspects of yourself and your spiritual practice?

Hecate is a goddess of the crossroads and the paranormal. How can you call upon her to guide you in making important decisions or manifesting your desires? You can choose another dark goddess or goddess of divination/decision-making if you don’t work with Hecate.

Write about a recent dream that felt otherworldly or connected to spirits. What message do you feel it holds, and how does it relate to your waking life?
Day 14: Transforming Through Darkness
Reflect on a period in your life where you went through darkness or a dark night of the soul and emerged stronger. How did this transformation mirror a spiritual death and rebirth?

Day 15: Journey to the Underworld
Visualize yourself journeying into the underworld. What and who do you encounter? Write down your impressions, any symbols, spirits, or messages you receive on this journey.

Before bed on the night of the 15th, set the intention to remember your dreams. Upon waking on the morning of the 16th, write everything you recall. Reflect on any paranormal or otherworldly energies present in the dream.
Day 17: Paranormal Symbols in Dreams
Explore recurring symbols in your dreams that may have paranormal or spiritual significance. What do these symbols mean to you specifically? How do these symbols guide your spiritual growth?
Day 18: Manifesting Through Dream Work
Focus on a specific manifestation you desire. Before sleeping on the 17th, visualize it happening. Write about any paranormal experiences or dreams that follow.

How can you combine lunar cycles with your work with spirits or deities to enhance your manifestations? Write about your plan for the next moon cycle.

How do your spirit guides assist in your manifestations? Write about your relationship with them and how they communicate with you.
Day 25: Gratitude to Spirits
Write a letter of gratitude to the spirits, ancestors, and guides who are helping you with your manifestations. Imagine their response and any signs they might send you.
Day 26: Paranormal Guides for Manifestation
What unseen forces or energies do you feel are actively working with you to help you manifest your desires (this could mean spirit guides, ancestors, or any unseen forces you work with in your practice)? How can you strengthen this connection?

Close the challenge by creating a vision board that includes paranormal symbols, spirits, and deities associated with your intentions for the new witch’s year. How will these unseen forces guide you in manifesting your desires?
